Energy storage system delivered at Hortipower

Last month, an energy storage system of 435 kWh was delivered to the KG Greenhouses site in Bergschenhoek. With this, Hortipower, the branch under which KG Greenhouses offers energy storage systems, has a system under its own management with which experience can be gained in trading on the various energy markets.
The system is equipped with an energy management system, air conditioning, 5 inverters and
175 SuperTitan type battery packs. These LTO batteries can be charged and discharged several times a day, without the battery deteriorating in quality. The batteries can be charged within 15 minutes. These properties make this type of battery extremely suitable for trading on the various energy markets. This is exactly what Hortipower will do by means of an Enova control box that is linked to the system. Keep an eye on the Hortipower and KG Greenhouses website and social media for experiences and updates!

In addition to the LTO batteries, Hortipower offers LFP batteries under the name SuperStrata. These lithium iron phosphate batteries are ideal for peak shaving. A battery can be used for this purpose by storing energy during times of low demand and then using this stored energy during times of higher demand. In some cases, a company at the new or current location does not have the necessary grid connection to grow further or to open a new location (grid congestion). ). In this case, peak shaving can offer a solution.
This type of battery is also very suitable for use in combination with solar panels. If the panels generate more energy than is currently being used, this energy can be stored in the battery. This stored energy can then be used at times when there is little or no sunlight.

Hortipower’s objective is to supply customized systems. For each application, the type of battery and the system size that is the optimal solution for this location are examined in consultation with the customer. Our energy storage systems meet the strictest standards (PGS 37) and are therefore easily insured. Each container is built from cell to system in the Netherlands, where each cell is tested separately and provided with a sticker with a barcode. Energy storage systems are now operational at various companies. Leasing energy storage systems is one of the options and Hortipower can also put the customer in contact with insurers.
